Ranking the Oscar Nominated Films

With every Oscar nominated film now under my belt, I've decided to do a fun pre-Oscars blog and simply rank the films from best to worst. Now, this isn't a meticulous list. I ranked them as I saw fit in the moment, and many factors, including entertainment, quality, expectations, and even number of viewings (which I've included in parentheses if it was more than once) went into my decision making process. Basically, if you're my friend and you're not happy about the order, then please feel free to bitch, but I'm not going to spend time arguing with you....Well, I might if your taste is bad enough.

I will circumvent a few arguments, however: Avatar -- I know the writing was bad, I know the plot was unoriginal, but I plan on defending it later so please spare me. The Hurt Locker -- I really wanted to catch this one again, and I think I might like it more the second time around, but as it stands, this is based on my original opinion from back in August. The Lovely Bones -- I could write a novel on how terrible this movie was.

And without further ado:

  1. Inglorious Basterds (2)
  2. Avatar (3)
  3. Up (3)
